About The Position

The Operations Technician, Investing Process Operator operates and maintains the Flash Fire unit. They remove sealed molds from the drying tunnel and ensure molds to be dewaxed are properly sequenced FIFO per the casting schedule. This role is responsible for operating and maintaining investing equipment/robots, developing new programs, performing inspections during mold processing, and maintaining materials within process control standards. The position also involves checking and maintaining slurries, segregating shells, and maintaining precise paperwork documentation to ensure quality systems requirements. Additionally, the role supports Lean Manufacturing and EHS initiatives, performs weekly housekeeping, and may lead the training of personnel, reinforcing safety expectations and ensuring safety operating practices are demonstrated.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain Flash Fire unit
  • Remove sealed molds from drying tunnel
  • Ensure molds to be dewaxed are properly sequenced FIFO per casting schedule
  • Use hand truck, pallet jack, carts and tables to safely transport product
  • Maintain work area, tools and equipment in a clean and organized condition
  • Detect and report faulty equipment, defective material and any unusual conditions to the department Supervisor or Lead
  • Follow designated safety rules and regulations
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and EHS initiatives
  • Dimensionally inspect work, using appropriate tools including, but not limited to; calipers, pin gauges, measuring instruments and surface plates, etc. as required
  • Perform weekly housekeeping per 5S schedule
  • Follow work orders to perform operations on various parts and products
  • Perform different types of operations based on manufacturing needs
  • Lead the training of personnel as directed by the department Supervisor or Lead
  • Reinforce safety expectations
  • Ensure safety operating practices are demonstrated
  • Report issues/concerns to Supervisor
  • Support quality and compliance by adhering to all procedures, work instructions, and forms per the Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • Provide and document training on standard of work instructions, policies, and procedures in a timely manner to ensure team members have the required knowledge and skills prior to performing work independently
  • Maintain materials within process control standards
  • Check and maintain slurries
  • Segregate shells appropriately to maintain lot integrity
  • Maintain precise paperwork documentation to insure quality systems requirements
  • Operate, program and maintain investing equipment/investing robot
  • Develop new programs and tech points as needed
  • Perform inspection during all processing of molds to insure quality standards
