About The Position
Talcott’s Summer Internship Program is designed to provide students with a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to immerse themselves in real-world challenges. As part of this ten-week fast-paced summer program, interns will engage in meaningful projects guided by training in market dynamics and industry fundamentals. In addition to hands-on learning, Talcott’s internship program offers a comprehensive schedule of educational workshops, peer networking events, and direct exposure to senior leadership, designed to support interns’ personal and professional development. We are seeking a summer intern to join the Investment Team and to support the Investment Team’s focus on designing, monitoring and overseeing asset positioning relative to the liabilities of the general account. The selected Investment Intern shall work on a hybrid schedule in our Hartford, CT. office.
Requirements
- A rising junior or senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Actuarial Science or a related field
- Candidates with a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or better will be given preference
- Innovative and collaborative problem solver
- Strong mathematical skills and understanding of financial concepts
- Proficient in MS Office Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently with a positive attitude, willingness to learn
- Proactive individual and quick learner
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without current or future visa sponsorship.
Nice To Haves
- Prior internship experience is preferred
- General coding language experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Support maintenance and improvement on existing asset liability models (ALM) and investment metrics/processes
- Support maintenance and development of liquidity monitoring
- Support the Credit and Strategic Asset Allocation teams with respect to monitoring/analytics
- Work closely with Investment Operations, Analytics and Reporting Team to support dashboard development
