About The Position

Talcott’s ten-week Summer Internship Program gives students the opportunity to work on real-world challenges through meaningful projects, training in market dynamics and industry fundamentals, educational workshops, peer networking events, and exposure to senior leadership. The program is designed to support interns’ personal and professional development.

The Investment Management Intern will join the Investment Team, which designs, monitors, and oversees asset positioning relative to the liabilities of the general account. The intern will support asset-liability models, liquidity monitoring, investment-team analytics, and dashboard development. This position follows a hybrid schedule at Talcott’s Hartford, Connecticut office.

Requirements

• Be a rising junior or senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
• Strong mathematical skills and understanding of financial concepts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Be proactive and a quick learner.

Nice To Haves

• Cumulative GPA of 3.4 or better; candidates meeting this threshold will be given preference.
• Prior internship experience.
• Experience with a general coding language.
• Innovative and collaborative problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Support maintenance and improvement of existing asset-liability models (ALM), investment metrics, and processes.
• Support maintenance and development of liquidity monitoring.
• Support the Credit and Strategic Asset Allocation teams with monitoring and analytics.
• Work with the Investment Operations, Analytics and Reporting Team to support dashboard development.
