About The Position
Talcott’s Summer Internship Program is designed to provide students with a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to immerse themselves in real-world challenges. As part of this ten-week fast-paced summer program, interns will engage in meaningful projects guided by training in market dynamics and industry fundamentals. In addition to hands-on learning, Talcott’s internship program offers a comprehensive schedule of educational workshops, peer networking events, and direct exposure to senior leadership, designed to support interns’ personal and professional development. We are seeking a summer intern to join the Investment Management Team, where you will assist in the implementation, monitoring, and analysis of investment strategies and policies, supporting the team’s efforts to optimize asset positioning and risk management. The selected Investment Intern shall work on a hybrid schedule in our New York, NY. office.
Requirements
- A rising senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Actuarial Science or a related field
- Candidates with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better will be given preference
- Prior internship experience is preferred
- Innovative and collaborative problem solver
- Strong mathematical skills and understanding of financial concepts
- Proficient in MS Office Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Proactive individual and quick learner
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without current or future visa sponsorship.
Nice To Haves
- General coding language experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Aggregate and review investment data to support portfolio analysis and positioning
- Assist in monitoring credit quality and compiling data against risk tolerances and established limits
- Assist in evaluating new investment opportunities and relative value across asset classes, including analysis of risk-adjusted returns, market conditions, and portfolio fit
- Contribute to the identification and quantification of emerging credit risks within the General Account
- Assist in preparing investment presentations and reporting materials for senior management, including portfolio positioning, trading activity, and key investment developments
- Support underwriting and surveillance activities for investments within Talcott’s Private Credit and Private Equity Alternatives portfolio
