About The Position

A prestigious elite boutique investment bank is seeking an Associate 1/2 to join its life sciences team in San Francisco. The associate will support senior bankers in executing M&A and financing transactions across the life sciences subsector. The role offers direct exposure to CEO-, CFO-, and board-level contacts, significant responsibility, and advancement opportunities. The employer is not considering H-1B, STEM OPT, or other visa candidates at this time; candidates with RIF experience are acceptable.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of investment banking experience; life sciences investment banking transaction experience is preferred.
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, including knowledge of financial accounting.
• BS or BA in finance or a similar field, with an exemplary academic record.
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
• High motivation, energy, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, meritocratic, team-oriented environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

• Previous life sciences and biopharma investment banking experience at the Associate level.

Responsibilities

• Participate in client transactions, projects, and assignments.
• Interact with clients, internal banking teams, and product teams.
• Assist in preparing presentations and marketing materials, including CIMs and management presentations.
• Conduct valuation analyses and financial modeling of clients and targets.
• Review business plans, conduct research, and analyze financial statements.
• Manage due diligence processes, including virtual data room preparation and counterparty Q&A.
