About The Position

Morgan Stanley’s New York City office is seeking an Investment Banking Analyst to join the Consumer & Retail Group. The analyst will work with regional and international clients on complex transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, joint ventures, corporate restructurings, shareholder relations, recapitalizations, demergers, leveraged buyouts, defenses against unsolicited takeover attempts, strategic advisory assignments, and public and private capital markets executions. The analyst will collaborate with professionals throughout the firm to provide high-quality client advice and contribute to a team of senior professionals who encourage creative thinking beyond the numbers.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in investment banking or capital markets.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Series licensing, or willingness to obtain it.
• High motivation, focus on work quality, attention to detail, strong work ethic, and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Analytical, quantitative, adaptive, self-starting, and results-oriented approach; ability to lead, work in a team, and multitask.
• Interest in developing a career in investment banking.

Responsibilities

• Work with regional and international clients on complex transactions and strategic advisory assignments.
• Support transaction execution across acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, joint ventures, corporate restructurings, shareholder relations, recapitalizations, demergers, leveraged buyouts, and defenses against unsolicited takeover attempts.
• Work on public and private capital markets transactions.
• Collaborate with professionals throughout the firm to deliver high-quality advice to clients.
