About The Position

The Investment Accounting Intern will support Compass Group’s Contracts team in Field Accounting, providing financial support to field operations and internal customer service across the organization. The role offers experience working with a team with varied strengths. The internship is paid and runs May 17, 2027, through August 6, 2027, in Charlotte, North Carolina. The schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a hybrid work arrangement. The position is not eligible for benefits, including medical, dental, vision, relocation, housing, or paid time off.

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Accounting or a similar undergraduate program as a rising junior or senior, with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Access.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organization, with the ability to multitask.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of management.
• Ability to manage time, meet target dates, and work under pressure with tight deadlines.
• Quick learner who is self-directed, proactive, and curious.
• Ability to be flexible and adjust to changing factors and conditions.
• Curiosity about the hospitality and service industry.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ensuring monthly profit and loss statements accurately reflect client contracts.
• Ensure accounting conforms to Group Accounting Policies and Procedures and maintains internal controls.
• Validate field requests and prepare journal entries as needed.
• Complete special projects as assigned.
