We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Investigations Specialist to lead complex investigations involving allegations of abuse, neglect, and other reportable incidents affecting individuals receiving services. This role is ideal for a professional who combines investigative expertise with strong analytical thinking, exceptional communication skills, and a commitment to protecting vulnerable populations. As a Senior Investigations Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with state regulations while helping uphold Oak Hill's mission of providing person-centered, high-quality services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) field.
  • Two to three (2-3) years of investigative experience.
  • Current Connecticut Department of Developmental Services (DDS) Investigator Certification.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout Connecticut to Oak Hill locations.
  • Strong investigative judgment and the ability to remain objective and fact-focused.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive, confidential information with professionalism.
  • Emotional intelligence and composure when handling difficult situations and interviews.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to accommodate witness availability and investigation timelines.
  • Ability to accept feedback and continuously improve investigative practices.
  • Strong collaboration skills with diverse stakeholders across multiple disciplines.

Nice To Haves

  • Five or more (5+) years of investigative and/or supervisory experience.
  • Experience working with state regulatory agencies and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough, objective, and timely investigations into allegations of abuse, neglect, and other reportable incidents.
  • Gather and analyze documentary, testimonial, and other forms of evidence to establish findings of fact.
  • Prepare detailed investigative reports that meet Oak Hill, DDS, DCF, and other regulatory agency standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, state agencies, guardians, family members, and individuals receiving services to ensure comprehensive investigations.
  • Work closely with the Investigation Oversight and Compliance Supervisor to review findings, refine reports, and implement recommendations.
  • Monitor and follow up on corrective actions and recommendations from state oversight agencies.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to investigators and contracted investigative resources.
  • Assist with caseload management, training initiatives, and investigative process improvements.
  • Serve as a resource during the absence of the Investigation Oversight and Compliance Supervisor, including assigning investigations and evaluating intake concerns.
