About The Position

The Inventory Supervisor will train, supervise, and coordinate the activities of workers engaged in receiving, material handling, purchasing, and inventory. This role requires a full understanding of managing and controlling all packaging materials ordering.

Requirements

  • A.S in Business Management or 4 years’ experience in related field.
  • Able to complete all mandatory training and receive proper certifications.
  • An analytical mindset with excellent organizational skills.
  • Demonstrate accuracy, proficiency and thoroughness.
  • Demonstrate ability to meet productivity standards.
  • Excellent customer service orientation.
  • Able to sit, walk, and move around for long hours at a time.

Responsibilities

  • Notify purchasing to order additional inventory as needed.
  • Perform material audits by directing approved staff to perform cycle and inventory counts on a scheduled basis or as requested by the customer.
  • Work with the Plant Manager on arranging stock for better access and in counting stock to ensure accuracy of inventory levels.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support the plant and purchasing needs.
  • Report hazardous conditions / any job-related injury or illness to the employer and seek treatment promptly.
  • Ensure all quality standards and safety regulations are being followed.
  • Ensure all inventory reporting is regularly maintained to managers’ requirements.
  • Monitor all materials activity, bin audits, cycle counts and purchasing.
  • Assist materials utilities with researching inventory discrepancies, determining root cause, and developing a plan to rectify issues.
  • Monitor, review and ensure adequate stock of all materials, supply items, and inventory items.
  • Coordinate the disposition of obsolete or scrap inventory.
  • Ensure the proper and accurate set up of new items in the required system (Item Master, Item Location, and Item Vendor Master File) and ensure material pricing is current.
  • Contact suppliers and vendors to ensure adequate inventory and authorize expedite materials as needed.
  • Perform purchasing of packaging materials per established schedules; perform purchasing of supply items per count sheets.
  • Minimize shrinkage by ensuring inventory is not stolen, destroyed, lost, or counted incorrectly.
