About The Position

The Materials & Inventory Leader is responsible for leading a high-performing team while ensuring effective inventory control and materials flow to support production and customer commitments. This role drives continuous improvement, promotes a strong safety and ethical culture, and collaborates cross-functionally to align supply chain activities. Using ERP data and inventory systems, the incumbent forecasts demand, optimizes inventory levels, and implements controls to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and loss prevention.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in inventory management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across the organization.
  • Leadership skills to coach, develop and supervise staff to align with the strategic vision for the department.
  • Technical expertise and problem solving.
  • Proficient in using procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite and other software.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in supply chain management (e.g., CPIM, Supply Chain Warehousing) preferred.
  • Supervisor experience in a manufacturing setting is an asset.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with other departments to ensure alignment and coordination across the supply chain.
  • Create and implement project plans for inventory control.
  • Develop and maintain procedures to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Manage materials receiving and distribution functions.
  • Collaborate with production teams to meet schedules and customer orders.
  • Forecast customer demand and optimize inventory levels.
  • Implement control measures to prevent loss, theft, and obsolescence.
  • Understand technical inventory control systems.
  • Analyze ERP data to influence inventory optimization, inventory control and to inform inventory management strategy.
