About The Position

Responsible for tracking, organizing, and maintaining inventories to ensure accurate stock levels and efficient operations. This role ensures operations have the necessary chemicals and supplies to minimize downtime or increased scrap. The Inventory Specialist will monitor inventory levels, maintain accurate records, and perform various inventory counts. They will also work with Logistics to update SAP, manage chemical ordering and pricing, and forecast needs to ensure the Value-Added department has the supplies required to run the business. Knowledge of chemical hazards, waste management, and emergency response procedures is essential. The role also involves maintaining a clean work area, adhering to company policies, and assisting other positions within the Value-Added department.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of chemical hazards, waste management procedures, and implementation of emergency response procedures.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills to include Microsoft products.
  • Organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and be self-directed.

Responsibilities

  • Tracking, organizing, and maintaining inventories to ensure accurate stock levels and efficient operations.
  • Monitoring inventory levels and maintaining accurate records.
  • Organizing and storing inventory according to company standards.
  • Performing weekly inventory counts of chemicals and consumables.
  • Executing specific financial inventories as defined, including end-of-month chemical inventories for Finance.
  • Working with Logistics to update chemical inventories in SAP.
  • Updating chemical ordering and pricing with correct inventories and the 6-month forecast.
  • Ordering chemicals based on usage, current inventory levels, and 6-month forecast to ensure the Value-Added department does not run out of supplies.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned to maintain work flow or respond to emergency conditions.
  • Adhering to all company policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining work area in a clean and orderly condition in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Performing all duties within the limitation of standard methods and procedures, and in accordance with strict adherence to HSE, quality, and productivity requirements.
  • Assisting other positions within the Value-Added department.
