About The Position

Serve as the clinical and operational anchor for one of the premier organ transplant programs in the world. Drive operational excellence by strategically assessing floor dynamics, managing patient flow, and optimizing unit resources to ensure smooth shift operations. Act as a key mentor and resource on the floor, fostering a culture of high performance, teamwork, and continuous professional growth. Mastermind resource allocation by matching patient acuity with staff competencies to ensure safe workload distribution and top-tier patient outcomes. Collaborate closely with world-renowned surgical providers, multidisciplinary care teams, and leadership to continuously improve quality service and unit efficiency. Champion quality and value by driving clinical quality initiatives and operational standard work while supporting sound financial and resource management.

Requirements

Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact Required
Current CPR/BLS certification Required
Must possess a current, valid driver’s license issued by the individual’s state of residence.
Must be at least 21 years old and have a minimum of three (3) years of driving experience to operate a Personal Vehicle, Patient/Visitor Vehicle, or standard UW Health Fleet Vehicle. Required
2 years experience in an inpatient unit Required
2 years of combined work experience and leadership experience may be considered in lieu of two (2) years’ experience in an inpatient unit Required

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred
3 years experience in an acute care inpatient unit Preferred
Relevant RN experience with department-specific patient population Preferred
National certification in relevant specialty Preferred
