About The Position

The Inventory Specialist helps manage daily inventory operations to ensure 100% material availability and documentation accuracy in an AS9100-certified manufacturing environment. This role drives rigorous inventory control protocols, leads Inventory initiatives, drives inventory and transaction control/accuracy, and maintains strict compliance with aerospace quality standards. The primary goal is to eliminate inventory variances, eliminate production downtime, and guarantee full component traceability from receiving through to work order issuance.

Requirements

  • Advanced proficiency in inventory software (e.g., JD Edwards, SAP, Oracle, Epicor)
  • Ability to interpret work orders, bills of materials (BOMs), and basic manufacturing documentation.
  • Extreme attention to detail when verifying part numbers, quantities, and documentation.
  • Licensed forklift truck operator.
  • Strong analytical skills to trace inventory discrepancies back to transaction root causes.

Responsibilities

  • Guarantee all materials maintain complete lot, batch, and serial number traceability per AS9100 standards.
  • Lead the daily cycle counting program, investigate discrepancies, and log root-cause corrections.
  • Monitor age-sensitive materials, enforce First-In, First-Out (FIFO) rules, and purge expired stock.
  • Lead root-cause analysis for inventory variances, managing non-conforming materials through established Material Review Board (MRB) procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and labeled stockroom to pass regular internal and external quality audits.
  • Review and approve all system entries for receipts, transfers, and stock adjustments to ensure data integrity.
  • Oversee the accurate, timely kitting and issuing of raw materials and hardware to manufacturing work orders.
  • Validate and log unused materials returning from the production floor back into the ERP system.
  • Partner with purchasing and finance to reconcile shipping discrepancies or inventory paperwork mismatches.
  • Coordinate with production leaders & operators, production planners and quality personnel leads to expedite critical shortage materials to the assembly lines.
  • Coordinate with production control and the shop floor to continuously monitor when jobs can and should be issued to the floor based on due date.
