About The Position

The Inventory Specialist is responsible for monitoring and maintaining accurate inventory levels within the Inventory Management System. This role also involves greeting and engaging customers consistent with the company's Core Value of “Jump Over the Counter Service Excellence”. The Inventory Specialist ensures stock counts are accurate, maintains inventory levels through proper ordering and receiving, and reviews pending inventory transactions daily. They communicate with the store director regarding inventory levels, research shortages, correct shelf conditions, and ensure product levels are maintained and replenished on shelves. Additionally, the role requires maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary working environment, adhering to company safety procedures, and providing friendly, customer service-oriented assistance. This includes greeting customers, answering questions, and responding to complaints. Safety precautions are necessary when using equipment and tools, and the specialist assists with other assigned duties, including period and bi-annual inventory counts.

Requirements

• Intermediate knowledge of the company's backroom organization standards.
• Basic knowledge of product placement.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to comprehend and interpret information.
• Ability to learn new technology systems, methods and processes.
• Ability to reason, form concepts and recognize and solve problems.
• Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
• Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.

• Ability to use knives/box cutters.
• Ability to operate a pallet jack/bailer.
• Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as is reasonably possible.
• Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor.
• Minimum of 18 years of age required.
• Partners must be 21 years of age or older to drive for Company business in accordance with the BGC Business Driver Policy.

Nice To Haves

• High school Diploma or GED and one or more years of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs stock counts in the Inventory Management System daily to ensure accuracy of product balances on hand.
• Maintains accurate inventory levels through proper ordering and receiving of product.
• Ensures all pending inventory transactions are reviewed and completed daily.
• Communicates with store director on inventory levels; researches any shortages and corrects unacceptable shelf conditions.
• Ensures product levels are maintained and replenished on shelves.
• Maintains clean, safe and sanitary working and shopping environment by adhering to Company safety procedures.
• Complies with all Company policies and procedures.
• Provides friendly and customer service-oriented attitude by greeting customers, answering questions, and responding to customer complaints.
• Takes precautionary safety measures when using equipment and work tools.
• Assists with all other assigned duties, including period and bi-annual inventory service counts.
