About The Position

This position is responsible for sorting hold area slabs, selecting slabs for fabrication, and moving slabs to the necessary line location. The role involves learning and applying Cambria warehouse work concepts as outlined in the Warehouse SOPs, staging material for inspection, sorting and storing slabs using an overhead crane, and ensuring correct scanning of materials. The Inventory Specialist will also operate a forklift as needed, complete safety inspections, participate in inventory counts, and communicate material defects and inventory levels to the Supervisor. Maintaining a clean work area, conducting duties safely, and demonstrating a sense of urgency are key aspects of this role. The position also includes cross-training on multiple equipment types and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Ability to work safely and follow Standard Operating Procedures
  • Ability to become certified in using a forklift and an overhead crane
  • Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, materials, and equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to speak and read English sufficiently to converse with the general public, read and understand highway signs/signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports/records
  • Ability to use measuring equipment
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret blueprints and technical procedures

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Warehouse Experience Preferred
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work at varying heights, including on the rooftop of the buildings
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Ability to push/pull 100 lbs.
  • Ability to stand on feet on concrete for long periods of time during a shift for up to 12 hours, with intermittent breaks
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by Cambria
  • Ability to participate in daily stretch and flex exercises
  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment in all weather conditions
  • Ability to walk up and down steps multiple times throughout shift

Responsibilities

  • Learn and apply the concepts of Cambria warehouse work as outlined in the Warehouse SOPs
  • Stage material to prepare for inspection of slab
  • Sort slabs using an overhead crane and store them in the correct locations
  • Ensure that slabs are scanned correctly
  • Inspect the overhead crane daily
  • Operate a forklift as needed (minimal, no experience required)
  • Complete safety inspections of forklift and crane
  • Participate in monthly inventory counts
  • Communicate with Supervisor to keep them informed of material defects and inventory levels
  • Keep work area clean and orderly
  • Conduct all job-related duties in a safe and responsible manner
  • Sense of urgency in completing work
  • Cross-train on multiple types of equipment
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor or Management
