About The Position

This position is responsible for sorting hold area slabs, selecting slabs for fabrication, and moving slabs to the necessary line location. The role involves learning and applying Cambria warehouse work concepts as outlined in the Warehouse SOPs, staging material for inspection, sorting and storing slabs using an overhead crane, and ensuring correct scanning of slabs. The Inventory Specialist will also inspect the overhead crane daily, operate a forklift as needed (minimal, no experience required), and complete safety inspections of both the forklift and crane. This role participates in monthly inventory counts, communicates with the Supervisor regarding material defects and inventory levels, and maintains a clean and orderly work area. All job-related duties are to be conducted in a safe and responsible manner, with a sense of urgency in completing work. The position also includes cross-training on multiple types of equipment and performing other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Management.

Requirements

  • Ability to work safely and follow Standard Operating Procedures
  • Ability to become certified in using a forklift and an overhead crane
  • Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, materials, and equipment maintenance
  • Ability to speak and read English sufficiently to converse with the general public, read and understand highway signs/signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports/records
  • Ability to use measuring equipment
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret blueprints and technical procedures

Responsibilities
