About The Position

The Ideal Tridon Group is seeking an Inventory Specialist for their Auburn Hills, Michigan Plant. This role operates in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing setting that may include dust and debris and can be loud at times. The Inventory Specialist will be responsible for providing service to manufacturing operations by monitoring and maintaining inventory levels, processing and tracking purchase orders and changes, performing cycle counts, and compiling inventory information. This includes determining stock supply and need for replenishment based on consumption rates, characteristics, value, and stock on hand. The role involves inputting data, generating audit reports, coordinating the physical movement of parts and materials, updating receiving systems, and monitoring material handling activities to ensure quality of service and internal customer delivery expectations. The position reports to the shift supervisor and requires the ability to operate a forklift, read and understand written directions, and provide report data to management. Safety procedures, proper handling of materials, and quality checks are essential. The job may require overtime, a flexible schedule, reporting early, working late, and occasional weekends.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong aptitude for operating machinery.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and learn the production process.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must be able to clear drug screen and background check.
  • Must have reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Hi-Lo Certification preferred, will be trained, and certified on the hi-lo.
  • (1) year of experience in tool and die in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOP’s).
  • Record and track all shipping transactions utilizing a scan gun.
  • Able to safely operate a forklift and heavy equipment in tight places.
  • Perform cycle counts, and compile inventory information.
  • Determine stock supply and consumption rates.
  • Able to work closely with team leaders and supervisors on forecasting Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Follow safety protocol.
  • Read and comprehend schedule and Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Inspect manufactured goods for defects, quality, proper material and correct size and specifications.
  • Housekeeping while in between quality checks. (5’s Area/ Aisle)
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
