About The Position

LOVING is hiring an Inventory Specialist for third shift. This role is crucial for the logistics operation that keeps the company's landscape, hardscape, sod, and outdoor living services running smoothly. The Inventory Specialist ensures that all materials, equipment, and supplies are accurately tracked, organized, and ready for the morning crews, directly impacting the efficiency and success of daily operations.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift, load, and move heavy materials repeatedly throughout a shift.
  • Willingness and ability to work third shift consistently.
  • Attention to detail to ensure the right material ends up on the right truck.
  • Reliability and punctuality, showing up on time for every shift.
  • Comfort operating in a working yard environment with moving equipment and trucks in various weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift certification or experience operating a forklift, skid steer, or similar equipment.
  • Experience in a warehouse, distribution, or yard environment.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish.
  • Familiarity with inventory tracking systems or willingness to learn one quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Unload incoming deliveries, receive materials, verify orders, and store or stage them properly.
  • Perform quality checks on materials before they are loaded onto trucks, flagging any issues.
  • Rotate perishable stock using a first-in, first-out system and report any product showing signs of stress.
  • Store and organize materials properly, ensuring storage areas are weatherproofed and sensitive materials are protected.
  • Pull and stage materials by crew and route, ensuring they are grouped, labeled, and organized for efficient loading.
  • Load trucks for the next day's jobs, ensuring the correct materials are on the correct truck for the correct crew and site.
  • Fuel trucks and top off fluids before the morning rollout.
  • Maintain and organize small equipment, ensuring batteries are charged, fuel is topped off, and tools are in working condition.
  • Manage tool inventory and accountability, tracking what goes out and what comes back.
  • Restock crew supplies such as water, ice, PPE, and safety gear.
  • Track inventory counts, ensuring accuracy and reporting low stock or discrepancies.
  • Communicate with dispatch and scheduling regarding load status, shortages, or backorders.
  • Deliver materials to crews in the field when needed for mid-day needs or job site restocks.
  • Keep the shop clean and organized, ensuring tools are stored properly and workspaces are safe.
  • Maintain the yard, keeping material staging areas organized, managing layout for efficient movement, and ensuring functionality and safety.
  • Manage the waste and disposal area, including dumpsters, recyclables, and scrap material.
  • Document and report any damage to trucks, equipment, or materials.
  • Secure the yard at the end of the shift, including locking up and checking gates.
  • Assist the team where needed, stepping in to help with tasks beyond the defined list.
