Requirements

Has 2-3 years of relevant technical / commercial experience

Preference for a base knowledge of USTG Supply Chain operations.

Responsibilities

Review Planners / Procuris for all item types and indicate which items to order and how many.
Review normal use items and make recommendations on which items are candidates for potential blanket orders
Reviews items to ensure min/max levels are appropriate for the usage and storage requirements
Reviews lead times to ensure they are consistent with recent deliveries to avoid delays on other orders with same or similar items
Looks for ways to optimize inventory through increasing purchase size to reducing slow and excess inventory balancing company goals with customer service levels.
Contact sites / customer as needed
Evaluate and monitor inventory turnover per site to reduce on hand inventory investment
Perform and audit inventory optimization tasks
Assist with special projects, as necessary
Other duties as assigned
Attend buyer’s meetings for feedback on vendor issues
Attend weekly 5-minute meeting held by Supervisor for department information
Attend customer facing inventory reviews as requested
Supervisor or Lead may assign special projects
