About The Position

Joliet Staffing is hiring an Inventory Control Supervisor for a leading food distribution center in Minooka, IL. We are seeking a detail-oriented leader to oversee inventory control operations, ensure inventory accuracy, and support daily warehouse activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, and leading teams in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 2-3 years of supervisory experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or distribution.
Experience leading warehouse or inventory teams in a fast-paced environment.
Strong leadership and team development skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
High attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to make sound decisions with minimal supervision.
Commitment to inventory accuracy and operational excellence.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Frequently lift and move products weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and climb as needed.
Ability to work in refrigerated, freezer, and ambient warehouse environments as business needs require.
Ability to safely work around forklifts and warehouse equipment.

Nice To Haves

Associate's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred.
Experience in a food distribution or food manufacturing environment preferred.
Strong understanding of inventory control procedures, warehouse operations, and cycle counting.
Experience with inventory management software, ERP systems, and RF scanners preferred.
Strong data entry and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

Supervise the daily activities of the Inventory Control team.
Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts, physical inventories, and routine audits.
Investigate inventory discrepancies and identify root causes.
Coordinate inventory adjustments and maintain accurate inventory records.
Monitor product movement throughout the warehouse to ensure inventory integrity.
Collaborate with Receiving, Shipping, Production, and Warehouse Operations to resolve inventory-related issues.
Develop and implement inventory control procedures to improve operational efficiency.
Review inventory reports and analyze trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety regulations, and inventory control procedures.
Train, coach, and develop inventory control associates.
Schedule employee work assignments, monitor productivity, and conduct performance evaluations.
Maintain documentation related to inventory transactions, audits, and cycle counts.
Support warehouse management during annual physical inventories.
Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to reduce inventory variances and increase accuracy.
Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
