About The Position

The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for leading daily inventory operations and owning the inventory control function across the warehouse and asset operations environment. This role ensures inventory accuracy through oversight, variance analysis, and enforcement of inventory control standards. The position maintains active hands-on activities within warehouse operations and provides functional direction to operational teams during cycle counts and reconciliations. The role exercises independent judgment in evaluating discrepancies, approving adjustments within established authority levels, and implementing corrective actions that impact financial and operational performance. While the position maintains a presence on the warehouse floor to verify compliance with inventory procedures, the primary duty consists of inventory control oversight, variance analysis, audit readiness, and operational decision-making related to inventory integrity and risk management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Finance, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • 3-5 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or inventory analysis
  • Demonstrated experience owning or improving inventory control processes
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP/WMS systems
  • Proven ability to provide functional direction and ensure adherence to inventory control standards
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in resolving discrepancies and recommending corrective action
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment, including occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

  • ERP or WMS system ownership or advanced user experience
  • Experience supporting internal controls, audit processes, or financial reconciliation related to inventory

Responsibilities

  • Establish and enforce inventory control standards, procedures, and documentation requirements
  • Evaluate discrepancies and determine appropriate corrective or financial action within authority levels
  • Approve inventory adjustments as authorized
  • Identify control gaps and implement process improvements
  • Maintain accountability for overall inventory accuracy metrics
  • Provide direction to warehouse personnel during cycle count execution
  • Oversee physical inventory processes to ensure procedural compliance
  • Conduct spot audits and verification checks to validate procedural adherence
  • Monitor receiving, transfers, staging, and asset movement to ensure compliance with control standards
  • Ensure inventory system updates are accurate and timely
  • Review and analyze variance reports, shrink trends, and adjustment activity
  • Escalate material discrepancies and recommend resolution strategies
  • Develop and monitor KPIs related to inventory accuracy and operational risk
  • Partner with Finance to support reconciliation and financial reporting accuracy
  • Serve as the inventory control lead for internal and external audits
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and inventory inventory records
  • Ensure inventory practices align with internal control and financial reporting requirements
  • Support continuous improvement of inventory governance processes
