About The Position

The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the company's overall inventory and warehouse operations in order to maximize the process efficiency and productivity. The role includes planning and leading cycle counting and inventory activities and coordinating transportation in and out of the warehouse to ensure efficient inventory flow. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset and excellent leadership skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Inventory Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an inventory management role, with at least 2 years in a managerial position.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Manufacturing preferred.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain and inventory management systems.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, AS400, or other Enterprise Business Suite.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Analytical thinker with ability to conduct research, data analysis, and resolve complex problems.
  • Ability to lead, inspire, and manage a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Production and Inventory Management (CPIM).
  • Experience in the industry specific to the company’s operations.
  • In-depth experience in various ERP systems (Infor SyteLine, a plus).
  • Working with various logistics providers and handling cases of damage.
  • Professional certifications such as APICS CPIM

Responsibilities

  • Oversee staffing, warehouse operations, and inventory management for the organization.
  • Lead and mentor your team with a hands-on approach, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Lead improvement projects across all aspects of the warehouse.
  • Lead cycle counting and physical inventory counting activities and investigate variances.
  • Anticipate labor needs based on sales volume, ensuring optimal staffing levels.
  • Implement and enforce quality and safety programs, including ISO 9001 audits.
  • Ensure warehouse is well maintained and cleanliness is in order.
  • Identify obsolete and slow-moving inventory and determine dispositions.
  • Handle inbound and outbound freight claims with service providers.
  • Collaborate with senior management to set operational goals and drive results.
  • Coordinate and optimize transportation in and out of the warehouse and ensure efficient inventory flow for both shipping and storage.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive training program for all warehouse/logistics staff, including onboarding and ongoing education.
  • Develop process documents and work instructions for various roles in the warehouse.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and provide regular feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Resolve employee/personnel problems and notify management of any employee/personnel problems.
  • Order materials, tools, equipment and PPE for the warehouse.
  • Comply with all safety guidelines and regulations.
  • Complete additional training as assigned by Supervisor or Risk Management.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
