About The Position

The Inventory Control Lead assists the Inventory Control Manager in coordinating, moving, and managing the inventories of all EMS warehouses. This role involves performing cycle counts and bin verifications to maintain warehouse accuracy, processing and movement of RMAs, Return to Mills, Scrap, and Freight claims. The lead will research material discrepancies, assist in filling orders, create and manage reporting procedures for various material types, coordinate returns to mills, monitor scrap and damaged materials, and work with the Sales Department on freight claims. Additionally, the position supports receiving duties, assists with annual physical inventory, and helps coach and train warehouse personnel on inventory functions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform cycle counts to verify inventory levels as directed by Operations and Purchasing managers, reporting and logging a minimum of 75 per week.
  • Perform bin verifications to ensure material is properly identified and in its correct locations, reporting and logging a minimum of 50 per week.
  • Research any material discrepancies and lost products to assist in the filling of orders to provide proper service to our customers at all warehouses.
  • Assist the warehouse managers to process and close out RMA’s in a timely manner.
  • Transfer material between warehouse and scrap warehouses as needed.
  • Facilitate the processing and movement of RMA’s.
  • Create and manage necessary reporting and filing procedures in order to better manage scrap, obsolete and return to mill materials.
  • Determine and inspect material to be returned to the mills and coordinate with the Purchasing Manager and department.
  • Document and report the process from first contact with the mill representative until a credit is received and processed.
  • Monitor, report and record the movement of all scrap, returned and damaged materials.
  • Oversee and maintain the scrap warehouses for item accuracy and bin location.
  • Work with the Sales Department to obtain all required information to process freight claims.
  • Contact the freight company and follow through until a claim is closed.
  • Assist and fill in as Receiving/Inventory Clerk as needed in all duties of receiving.
  • Assist ICM and Operations Manager in preparation and running of annual physical inventory at all of EMS facilities.
  • Travel to other EMS facilities as needed.
  • Assist in the coaching and training of warehouse personnel in all inventory functions including bin systems, scanner guns and inventory movement and management.
  • Any and all tasks as needed to maintain the safety and housekeeping conditions of the warehouse.
  • Any and all tasks as assigned by the Inventory Control Manager and/or Operations Manager to help perform the mission of the warehouse.
