About The Position

The Inventory Control Lead is responsible for overseeing and managing the entire inventory control process to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and optimal stock levels across the organization. This role involves developing and implementing inventory management strategies that minimize waste, reduce costs, and improve supply chain operations. The Inventory Control Lead will collaborate closely with procurement, warehouse, and sales teams to forecast demand and maintain appropriate inventory levels. They will also lead a team of inventory specialists, providing guidance and training to uphold best practices and compliance with company policies. Ultimately, this position ensures that inventory data is accurate and reliable, supporting business continuity and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory control or supply chain management.
  • Proficiency with inventory management software and ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities to manage and develop a team effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in APICS CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Advanced skills in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, or business intelligence software.
  • Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to inventory and supply chain management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the daily activities of the inventory control team to maintain accurate stock records and resolve discrepancies.
  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures and policies to optimize stock accuracy and turnover rates.
  • Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to forecast inventory needs and manage replenishment schedules.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories, analyze results, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Prepare detailed inventory reports and present findings to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
  • Train and mentor team members on inventory management systems, processes, and compliance standards.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory variances, including identifying root causes and recommending process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies related to inventory handling and storage.
