About The Position

The Inventory Control Lead is responsible for overseeing the accuracy, organization, and integrity of inventory across two warehouse locations. This individual ensures that all incoming and outgoing inventory is properly recorded, reconciled, and maintained in accordance with company procedures. The role requires close coordination with purchasing, production, and warehouse teams, and the ability to drive improvements in inventory tracking, reporting, and warehouse organization.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in inventory control or warehouse operations, preferably within a manufacturing environment; small to mid-sized manufacturing or distribution companies strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in inventory/warehouse management systems.
  • Strong overall technical skills with the ability to generate and analyze effective inventory reports.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with a strong attention to accuracy.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to drive key results.
  • Clear communicator with the ability to effectively coordinate across departments and with leadership.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and capable of working independently across multiple sites.
  • Proactive, anticipates business needs, and takes initiative to lead projects that will create efficiency.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 75 lbs, utilizing company equipment to move materials, and standing/moving for extended periods.

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, inventory management, logistics, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all inventory activities across two warehouse locations, ensuring accurate receipt, storage, transfer, and shipment of materials.
  • Oversee and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, ensuring correct quantities and condition of materials before signing off.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, damaged/missing goods, and variances in coordination with purchasing and vendors.
  • Maintain inventory records in the ERP system, ensuring timely updates and documentation for all inventory movements.
  • Monitor stock levels, reorder points, and storage conditions to ensure optimal inventory control and prevent stockouts or overages.
  • Conduct and lead physical inventory counts, including mid-year mini counts and year-end cycle counts, and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Develop and implement efficient warehouse layouts, organization, labeling systems, and inventory management processes while partnering with the Director of Purchasing & Warehouse Operations to ensure internal operations are the same across facilities and follow safety guidelines.
  • Prepare and present weekly reports on inventory metrics, discrepancies, trends, and recommendations for process improvements.
  • Serve as the Certified Forklift Trainer for both warehouse locations, providing training and certifications to employees in compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Operate company warehouse equipment to move materials, ensuring proper safety guidelines and accident/injury reporting procedures are followed.
