About The Position

Capital Electric Supply is seeking an inventory control associate to support third-party outbound logistics. The role coordinates, processes, and monitors outbound shipments through third-party logistics providers, including UPS and FedEx, to help ensure accurate, timely, and cost-effective product delivery. It works with Sonepar Warehouse Management Systems (SWMS), carrier portals, warehouses, transportation carriers, and Sales team members.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in logistics, transportation, shipping, distribution, or warehouse operations.
• Experience working with third-party logistics (3PL) providers and transportation carriers.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and logistics management systems.
• Knowledge of shipping documentation, freight terms, and transportation regulations.

Responsibilities

• Process and schedule outbound shipments using Sonepar Warehouse Management Systems (SWMS) and carrier portals.
• Coordinate daily shipping activities with third-party logistics providers, warehouses, and transportation carriers.
• Generate and review Bills of Lading, packing slips, shipping labels, commercial invoices, and customs paperwork.
• Ensure accurate shipment routing, carrier selection, and freight classification.
• Verify order accuracy before shipment release using SWMS.
• Coordinate inventory transfers between distribution centers, warehouses, and customer locations.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies, shipment shortages, overages, and damages.
• Maintain accurate records of freight movements and inventory transactions.
• Communicate with carriers about pickup schedules, shipment status, freight claims, and delivery issues as needed.
• Respond to Sales team members’ customer inquiries about shipping status, delivery schedules, and transportation issues.
• Coordinate return shipments and reverse logistics activities.
• Maintain accurate shipping records and support internal and external audits as required.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize logistics operations.
