About The Position

Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory of materials supplied to manufacturing processes by tracking inventory levels, maintaining documentation, and reporting trends and discrepancies. The role performs inventory counts and audits, records receipts and shipments, investigates discrepancies, and coordinates inter-business transfers to help ensure Operations teams have the materials they need. The position works in an active industrial manufacturing environment and follows applicable safety rules and regulations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or General Education Diploma equivalent.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Basic experience with computerized inventory systems.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Ability to carry a radio and respond when called.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds; lifts above 50 pounds require two people.
• Ability to perform active work involving standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the day.
• Ability to talk and hear in a busy industrial manufacturing environment.
• Vision abilities including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus for quality inspections.

Responsibilities

• Perform cycle counts and spot audits of materials according to the established system.
• Maintain accurate daily records of goods received and shipments made, and enter packing slips.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure Operations teams have materials when needed and answer inventory inquiries promptly.
• Research inventory discrepancies and submit accurate inventory reports.
• Assist in determining root causes of inventory discrepancies and help eliminate repetitive errors.
• Coordinate logistics for inter-business transfers, verify parts are suitable for shipment, ensure necessary paperwork and shipping labels are present, and coordinate with material handlers and shipping departments as needed.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas.
• Assist in other areas and perform other duties as needed.
