About The Position

This course focuses on the managerial dimension of public administration. It examines the roles and functions of public managers, including planning, decision-making, evaluation, human resources management, budget management and control, leadership, and information and technology management. The course will compare the nature and distinct environment of public management with management in the private sector, exploring traditional public administration and the new public management. Contemporary issues in public management will also be discussed.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or Ph.D. coursework in the field of Public Management.
  • Teaching experience in the field.
  • Competence in a second language (active).

  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Introduction to Public Management (PAP2320 Section A00) during the 2027 Winter Semester.
  • Deliver course content in English.
  • Conduct classes on Mondays from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM and Thursdays from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM.
  • Potentially modify teaching methods due to public health measures or other reasons.
  • Complete all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.
