This course focuses on the managerial dimension of public administration. It examines the roles and functions of public managers, including planning, decision-making, evaluation, human resources management, budget management and control, leadership, and information and technology management. The course will compare the nature and distinct environment of public management with management in the private sector, exploring traditional public administration and the new public management. Contemporary issues in public management will also be discussed.
