This course, POL2101/2501 Section PP00, is part of the 2026 Fall Semester at the Faculty of Social Sciences, School of Political Studies. The official course description is: «Fondements de l'espace politique canadien. Constitution, parlementarisme et fédéralisme. Partis politiques et élections. Aperçu des forces politiques (classes, groupes, mouvements). // Foundations of the Canadian political space. Constitution, parliamentary government, federalism. Political parties and elections. Overview of political forces (classes, groups, movements). » Enrollment in this course is exclusively reserved for students who will be serving as pages in the House of Commons of the Parliament of Canada during the Fall term. The course aims to provide students with essential knowledge and analytical tools to better understand Canadian political life. It offers an overview of the ideas, events, institutions, and key actors that have shaped and continue to influence Canada’s political society, with a specific focus on domestic politics. Teaching will alternate between French and English under a major theme. Students can participate in each session in the official language of their choice. The course will be offered in person, but the teaching method might be modified due to public health measures or other reasons.
