About The Position

This workshop is primarily for staff who participate in meetings on a regular basis and are looking to improve their second-language argumentative strategies. This is an intensive workshop during which employees practice communicating their ideas and opinions in a simulated meeting setting. The course is given online (virtual mode).

Requirements

B.A. with a specialization in a field relevant to teaching French as a second language (L2) or a higher certificate in teaching French as a second language (L2).
Two years of experience teaching FLS at the college and/or university level.
Previous experience teaching this course or an equivalent FLS course.
Experience with heterogeneous groups.
Acceptable level of education and/or experience may be considered equivalent.
Successful completion of all mandatory legislated training.
Compliance with current APTPUO collective agreements.

Responsibilities

Teach a workshop on participating in meetings in one's second language.
Practice communicating ideas and opinions in a simulated meeting.
Provide instruction in French as a second language (FLS) at the college and/or university level.
Adapt teaching methods for a heterogeneous group.
Potentially equivalent training/experience may be considered.
Inform candidates of any adaptive measures needed during the selection process.
Ensure successful completion of all mandatory legislated training.
Adhere to the current APTPUO collective agreements.
Foster a culture of respect, teamwork, and inclusion.
Support diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
