About The Position

This is a part-time language instructor position for the Fall 2026 semester, teaching FLS 2622-A (Intermédiaire: Compréhension et expression orale). The course focuses on reviewing French linguistic code (pronunciation, spelling, grammar, and vocabulary) with an emphasis on oral comprehension and production strategies. It includes practical exercises such as free conversations, short presentations, debates, and activities based on TV and radio broadcasts. Individual practice is also a component. The course is delivered online in a virtual mode. The academic period is from September 28 to November 4, 2026, with classes on Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM, excluding the reading week.

Requirements

B.A. with a specialization in a field relevant to teaching French as a second language (L2) or a higher certificate in teaching French as a second language (L2).
Two years of experience teaching French as a second language (FLS) at the college and/or university level.
Previous experience teaching this course or an equivalent FLS course.
Experience with heterogeneous groups.
Acceptable level of training/experience may be considered equivalent to the required training and/or demonstrated experience.

Responsibilities

Teach FLS 2622-A (Intermédiaire: Compréhension et expression orale) online.
Review French linguistic code (pronunciation, spelling, grammar, and vocabulary).
Focus on oral comprehension and production strategies.
Conduct practical exercises including conversations, short presentations, and debates.
Utilize activities based on TV and radio broadcasts.
Facilitate individual practice.
Systematize students' knowledge of the linguistic code.
