About The Position

This is a new position for the Fall 2026 semester, teaching FLS3812-F, Avancé - 4 Compétences : Écoute, lecture. parler, écrire. The course is in-person and is a personalized course for the real estate department. This advanced French course focuses on the four skills: listening, reading, speaking, and writing. It involves a review and systematization of French linguistic code and its application to oral and written comprehension and production activities (pronunciation, spelling-sound correspondence, oral grammar, and active vocabulary). The course emphasizes strategies for oral and written comprehension and production. Activities include free conversation, role-playing, authentic communication tasks from the real estate sector, and writing tasks. It utilizes authentic documents and situations from the university environment, with both individual and group practice. The course runs from September 9 to December 16, 2026, with classes on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM. Please note that this course is delivered in person.

Requirements

  • B.A. with a specialization in a field relevant to teaching French as a second language (L2) or a higher certificate in teaching French as a second language (L2).
  • Two years of experience teaching French as a second language (FLS) at the college and/or university level.
  • Previous experience teaching this course or an equivalent FLS course.
  • Experience with heterogeneous groups.
  • An acceptable level of training/experience may be considered equivalent to the required training and/or demonstrated experience.
  • Ability to successfully complete all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.

Responsibilities
