Charlotte Radiology, a large, subspecialized private radiology group in Charlotte, NC, is seeking fellowship-trained Interventional Radiologists to join its IR section. The Interventional Radiology service currently includes 16 IR physicians and is supported by office staff, dedicated IR clinics, and 40 APPs who assist with consults, provide clinical support, and perform minor IR procedures at all facilities. The IR service line covers multiple sites across the Charlotte region, six hospitals in total as well as a Vein Center. Our IR section performs the full range of high-end IR service lines, including PAD, critical limb ischemia, venous disease, interventional oncology, liver embolotherapy, ablation, TIPS, BRTO, geniculate, prostate, uterine and trauma embolization’s, vertebral augmentation, and stroke thrombectomy. We are interested in bringing in new IRs to grow new areas based on individual interests. Charlotte Radiology has a research department with two research coordinators, and our IR section is actively engaged in clinical research including investigational device trials across the IR space. Recent studies include Shockwave FORWARD and BTKII, ARCH Liverty TIPS trial, Instylla hydrogel hypervascular tumor embolization trial, ROUTE90 radioembolization trial, and TIGeR-PaC pancreatic cancer trial. We provide coverage for Advocate/Atrium Health, which merged with Wake Forest School of Medicine several years ago. A new Wake Forest medical school campus in Charlotte recently finished construction and is set to open its doors to its first class of medical students this summer. With this partnership come ample opportunities to participate in medical student education, and physicians who participate in teaching are granted adjunct academic appointments at Wake Forest School of Medicine. There are also many opportunities to teach and train our growing APP team.
