About The Position

The Department of Radiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a full-time interventional radiologist to join its expanding Division of Interventional Radiology. UAB Medicine is a state-of-the-art academic medical center located in the vibrant city of Birmingham, Alabama. This opportunity offers high earning potential through a new shift-based compensation model, along with an excellent benefits package. The IR division is robust, led by a dedicated team of faculty interventional radiologists and strengthened by physician assistants, an established IR clinic, and scheduling staff. The division includes all ACGME-accredited interventional radiology residency training pathways. The incoming faculty member will contribute to continued growth across inpatient and outpatient services at UAB Hospital, Children’s of Alabama, and The Kirklin Clinic of UAB Hospital. Requirements

Board certified or board eligible in Interventional Radiology (IR/DR or DR with CAQ).
Completion of accredited interventional radiology training (residency or fellowship).
Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Alabama.
J-1 waiver may be considered for qualified applicants.

Responsibilities

Contribute to continued growth across inpatient and outpatient services at UAB Hospital, Children’s of Alabama, and The Kirklin Clinic of UAB Hospital.
Teach IR/DR and DR residents as well as medical students.
Engage in research and scholarly work (encouraged but not required).
