About The Position

Fairview is hiring an Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist for its Interventional Imaging team at Southdale Hospital in Edina, Minnesota. This is a 0.8 FTE position, or 64 hours per two weeks, on the day shift, with weekday and weekend overnight call coverage rotation. The position is eligible for a sign-on bonus prorated based on experience. The technologist provides diagnostic imaging services to patients and physicians, creates high-quality images, and provides age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice. The role works collaboratively with the healthcare team and assists with invasive procedures in the interventional angiography suites, including collecting and assessing image data and serving in the scrub role to assist the radiologist.

Requirements

ARRT registration.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience as an interventional technologist.
ARRT IR certification, or successful completion within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

Maintain patient care and participate in creating a culture of patient safety.
Operate equipment according to accepted standards and guidelines, identify equipment problems, and respond to ensure equipment is functioning properly.
Apply established aseptic technique during patient preparation, draping, and setup for procedures.
Ensure patient data integrity, perform examinations, accurately identify relevant data from images, and communicate pertinent data to the appropriate healthcare professional.
During invasive procedures, achieve and maintain hemostasis manually or with a physician-selected mechanical device when required.
Assist the radiologist with required catheter and wire manipulation while maintaining sterile technique.
Adjust care or service to reflect the developmental level and cultural differences of the population served.
