About The Position

Fairview is hiring an Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist for its Interventional Imaging team at Southdale Hospital in Edina, Minnesota. This is a 0.6 FTE position, or 48 hours per two-week pay period, on the day shift, with weekday and weekend overnight call coverage on a rotating basis. The position is eligible for a sign-on bonus prorated based on experience. The Technologist provides diagnostic imaging services to patients and physicians, delivers age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and collaborates with the health care team. The role assists with invasive procedures in the interventional angiography suites, collects and assesses image data, and performs the scrub role while assisting the radiologist.

Requirements

ARRT registration.

One year of experience as an interventional technologist.
ARRT IR certification or successful completion within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

Maintain patient care and participate in creating a culture of patient safety.
Operate equipment according to accepted standards and guidelines, identify equipment problems, and respond to them to ensure equipment is functioning properly.
Apply established aseptic technique during patient preparation, draping, and setup for procedures.
Maintain patient data integrity, perform examinations, accurately identify relevant image data, and communicate pertinent information to the appropriate health care professional.
During invasive procedures, achieve and maintain homeostasis manually or with a mechanical device selected by the physician when required.
Assist the radiologist with catheter and wire manipulation while maintaining sterile technique.
Adapt care or services to reflect the developmental level and cultural differences of the population served.
