Interventional Cardiologist
About The Position
We are seeking an Interventional Cardiologist for a Locum Tenens position in Mechanicsville, Virginia. This inpatient role involves clinical coverage and on-call duties, with a focus on providing interventional cardiology services. The coverage period is ASAP and ongoing, with a shift schedule of Monday-Friday, 7 AM - 5 PM onsite, and on-call duties during weekday evenings and weekends. The position requires performing various procedures, including PCI, coronary angiograms, and atherectomy, as well as managing STEMI and unassigned call responsibilities. Specialty backup is available, and temporary privileges can be obtained.
Requirements
- Board Certified
- Active VA state license
- BLS, ACLS certifications
- Clean Malpractice record
- Self-Query NPDB report required at time of presentation (pulled within 30 days)

- Other Interventional Cardiologists Present for backup
Responsibilities
- Provide onsite interventional cardiology coverage weekdays from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Take STEMI and unassigned call on weekday evenings and weekends
- Perform rounding responsibilities as needed
- Manage phone consultations while on-call
- Perform required procedures including PCI, coronary angiograms, and atherectomy
