About The Position

Viera Charter School is seeking an Intervention Teacher to effectively communicate expectations for student learning and behavior. This role involves using formal and informal assessments to identify learning gaps in reading, math, and other core subjects, and creating tailored instructional strategies and materials to address specific skill deficits. The Intervention Teacher will partner with general education teachers, special education staff, and administrators to align interventions with classroom instruction, track student performance, and adjust strategies as needed. This position requires maintaining detailed records of student growth, sharing progress updates with parents, and involving them in the intervention process. The role also includes implementing behavior intervention strategies, using classroom procedures that support effective teaching, and developing a positive classroom climate. Additionally, the Intervention Teacher will design engaging lessons, submit collaborative lesson plans, promote an independent and collaborative work ethic, and participate in professional learning communities and development opportunities. The position requires attending meetings with administration, providing clear communication, demonstrating problem-solving skills, instructing on research-based interventions, and showing knowledge of content area and strategies for student success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts/Science in Education or field instruction required
  • Current Educator’s Florida Certification
  • Exceptional Education Certification
  • Reading Endorsement
  • Three years teaching experience

Responsibilities

  • Effectively communicates expectations for student learning and behavior.

  • Designs lessons to promote student engagement through active learning, hands on application, and teacher-student and student-student.
  • Submits collaborative lesson plans timely

  • Participates in professional learning communities and attends professional development opportunities to fully meet each child’s needs.
  • Attends and participates in meetings with administration as needed.
  • Provides timely and clear communication.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving.
  • Instructs on the implementation of research-based interventions that are based on quantitative and qualitative data collected along with meaningful classroom data.
