About The Position

One Love Agency is seeking an Interpreter to support clients with limited English proficiency at its agency locations. Interpreter opportunities are offered at each location, but openings are not guaranteed because availability fluctuates with the number of clients. The role helps clients understand and overcome obstacles and supports their independence and quality of life through collaborative, holistic care.

The Interpreter serves as a liaison between providers and clients, facilitating accurate and culturally appropriate communication with healthcare providers, patients, and families. The position also supports appointment scheduling, follow-up coordination, and explanations of treatment plans, while providing emotional support and advocacy. Interpreters must maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA regulations, work collaboratively with healthcare teams, and continually develop their interpreting skills and cultural competencies. Pay is per billable hour based on experience and positive client outcomes; the stated compensation range is $18.00–$24.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Demonstrate exceptional language proficiency in English and the client's language.
• Possess strong interpersonal skills to build rapport and trust with patients and staff.
• Show cultural sensitivity and the ability to build trust with clients, colleagues, and partners.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of professional interpretation experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities
