About The Position

The Interpreter will facilitate effective communication between two parties that do not speak the same language by converting one spoken language to another. Interpreting services include but are not limited to Employment, Training & Orientation, Meetings, Human Resources, Health Services and other operational activities as assigned. This position is held to a strict code of confidentiality. The interpreter must be willing to work in all environments of the facility.

Requirements

Must be able to pass a written and verbal assessment with a 75%.
Fluency in Spanish and/or Haitian Creole, other than and including English.
Ability to obtain a minimum of Level 3 Language Certification as prescribed in Tyson Foods software.
One year of interpreter experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong verbal communication skills in their dominant language and the English language.
Agree to sign a confidentiality agreement.
Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
Ability to be a member of a team to coordinate and provide support as needed.
Strong organizational, decision making, and follow-up skills.
Basic computer and typing skills preferred.
Willingness to use dictionaries and glossaries for reference to communicate a clear and concise message.

Nice To Haves

High school degree or equivalent is preferred but not required.
Current Team Members already certified under Tyson interpreter program or other language certification acquired through an academic organization will be preferred.
