About The Position

Join our caring team at the Haitian Adult Day Health Center, where we provide compassionate, community-based care for older adults and individuals with disabilities. As the Transportation Supervisor, you’ll ensure safe, reliable transportation for our participants — and help keep our operations running smoothly every day.

Requirements

  • High school diploma (or equivalent).
  • 3+ years of driving experience; supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience working with the elderly or disabled population preferred.
  • Valid Massachusetts Driver’s License and clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 100 lbs occasionally.
  • English and Haitian Creole / French language proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the transportation department.
  • Manage the department budget, including fuel tracking and vendor coordination for maintenance and repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with all DOT requirements, including licensing, registrations, and inspections.
  • Maintain the van fleet in safe, clean, and efficient working order.
  • Supervise and train a team of drivers to provide excellent service and safety.
  • Develop and manage employee schedules and client pick-up/drop-off routes.
  • Coordinate special outings, medical appointments, and field trips.
  • Step in to transport participants when needed.
  • Recognize and report any signs of abuse or neglect.
  • Advocate for clients’ rights, dignity, and independence.
  • Assist with participant care needs as assigned.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Participate in staff meetings, in-services, and ongoing training opportunities.
