This entry-level internship provides hands-on experience maintaining, performing preventive maintenance on, modifying, troubleshooting, repairing, and testing avionics equipment under FAR Part 145 repair station regulations. Work is performed under close supervision and in accordance with manufacturer-approved data, FAA-certified repair station requirements, applicable regulations, ISO procedures, and company policies. The intern performs preliminary analyses and alignments and light-to-moderate electronics troubleshooting while working toward required productivity, quality, and delivery standards. The role is intended for students enrolled in an electronics education program who are learning to interpret electronic drawings and documentation and repair electronic devices. It requires familiarity with electronics theory, schematics, artwork, hardware, and test equipment, as well as surface-mount soldering ability. The position must meet export-control requirements, so the employee must qualify as a “US Person” under 22 C.F.R. § 120.15. The position is performed onsite in a climate-controlled, well-lit, secure office and shop environment. The schedule is a 40-hour work week, with overtime as needed to support on-time delivery. Regular, reliable attendance and physical presence onsite are required. The job includes occasional lifting of products up to 20 pounds, frequent use of small hand tools and soldering equipment, and working with very small components. The technician may encounter varied lighting and odors and may be exposed to chemicals, requiring appropriate personal protective equipment.
