Internship/Practicum Placement

Davis Behavioral HealthLayton, UT
$10 - $19Onsite

About The Position

Davis Behavioral Health (DBH) is committed to being a vital part of the community and provides internship and practicum opportunities for students in Social Work programs at accredited universities. DBH is an approved field site for Bachelor's of Social Work (BSW), Master's of Social Worker (MSW), and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) programs. DBH also serves as an approved placement site for psychiatry residents. These opportunities are competitive to ensure a high-quality educational experience and a good fit for the agency, as DBH historically offers employment to many interns upon graduation. The number of available slots is determined annually by the clinical leadership team, considering the availability of field supervisors. Due to limited spots, DBH does not accept interns from other programs, including high school students. For the 2026/27 academic year, applications are accepted for specific programs and universities: BSW from Weber State University; MSW from Weber State University, Utah State University, University of Utah, and Boise State University; PMHNP from Weber State University, University of Utah, Rocky Mountain, and Maryville University. Students are required to provide contact information for their academic practicum advisor to determine if DBH and its staff can meet the requirements for field supervision. Interns working longer than 4 weeks are classified as non-exempt employees, while psychiatry residents are contractors. Placements of 4 weeks or less are classified as volunteers and are uncompensated. The schedule is restricted to Monday through Friday with limited evening hours due to supervision availability. All interns placed at DBH are paid, with specific stipend and hourly rates outlined for different programs.
