About The Position

The Technical Support team is responsible for creating and maintaining Plant 5 proprietary working documents for all P&WC engine families (turbofan, turboprop, regional and turboshaft). In addition, the group is committed to solving problems encountered in the repair of components at the tooling, programming, and laboratory levels. We are looking for someone with technical experience in the field of machining and sheet metal work. The specialist will have to collaborate with other aftermarket experts such as engineering, tooling, chemical and metallurgy specialist. As the position is related to operations, the expectation is that the person will be on site full time. Since the position is tied to operations, this internship will take place entirely on site. You will be responsible for a product line in component repair, specifically supporting operations. Our goal is to contribute to the delivery of components and engines for Plan 5 and to be involved in resolving issues that hinder progress. In addition, technological development and improvement projects are part of our deliverables. Technical support must ensure coordination and communication across multiple disciplines to enable the successful delivery of these high-visibility projects due to the investments involved. You will help maintain the overall health of our processes and develop optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Be eligible to work in Canada.
  • Be enrolled in a Canadian university throughout your internship.
  • Be able to work on-site in the province where you are hired if applicable.
  • Pursuing a degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Excellent communication skills in French (spoken/written).
  • Good skills in the CATIA V5 environment.
  • Good knowledge of computers (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Access, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Support operations in the repair of components.
  • Prepare, create, and modify work instructions to clarify processes.
  • Support investigations with the quality team if an error occurs during repair (act as a technical expert).
  • Management of technological development and integration projects with the resulting follow-ups to ensure progress and address the points that slow down the evolution.
  • Preparation and cost analysis for future repairs available on the market.
  • Feasibility and capability analysis before the introduction of new products with the help of the various specialists of the team and the plant.
  • Maintain effective communications with key stakeholders, multidisciplinary team members and operations.
