About The Position

The candidate will be an active component of the Research and Technology team in charge of deploying AM for production in our commercial engines. Our team works in close relationship with designers, analysis, manufacturing engineers, material engineers and process specialist. The candidate will mostly do office work in an extremely interactive environment with direct relationship and full support from senior engineers. Our team is dynamic, clever and works on high value hard deliverables. Flexible hours are a fact, remote work a possibility. The candidate will be participating in the deployment of AM for production engines, and as such will be expose to the full value stream of flight certification of an engine component. The candidate will be an active component of a really dedicated team and will be expected to take a pro-active role. Exposure and learning will only be limited by the candidate drive and willingness to learn.

Requirements

  • Be eligible to work in Canada.
  • Be enrolled in a Canadian university throughout your internship.
  • Be able to work on-site in the province where you are hired if applicable.
  • Skills in 3D modeling, ideally with CATIA
  • Experience in designing and manufacturing of AM parts
  • Understanding of the different aerospace manufacturing processes (machining, casting, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge in metallurgy
  • Spoken and written French/English bilingual
  • Strong and clear communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of English to read and understand specialized instructions, plans, drawings and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and sometimes communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and drive the progression of Additive Manufacturing Technology projects.
  • Deploy knowledge, tools, systems, and controls to incorporate AM production parts in engines.
  • Coordinate the execution of multiple AM projects, creation of business cases, validation of costing tools, creation of communication documents to company executives, planning and deployment of training.
  • Participate in material characterization by creating test plans, coordinating coupon testing, analyzing material data, and creating material testing reports.
  • Evaluate parts for AM manufacturing, propose and create design changes.
  • Create and document AM design best practices.
  • Create training documents and support designers.
  • Participate in the coordination and documentation of strategic plans, technology awareness material and presentations to executives.
