Position Overview As an International Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations for several country payrolls, ranging from 2 to 100 employees. Based out of Invenergy’s headquarters in downtown Chicago, this position will also manage timesheets, consolidate project allocations, and maintain payroll control records.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Proven knowledge of standard payroll concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Strong analytical and mathematic skills
  • Ability to adhere to monthly, quarterly, and annual department driven deadlines.
  • Familiarity with Excel and other Microsoft Office products is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

  • Strong coordination and organization skills with attentiveness to deadlines and accuracy
  • Experience with time keeping systems a plus
  • Experience with expatriate payroll processing a plus
  • Bilingual in English and Japanese or English and Spanish a plus
  • Experience with Japanese culture or working environments a plus
  • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study

Responsibilities

  • Process biweekly and monthly payrolls for workforce in Asia, Canada and Europe
  • Liaise with in-country partners on payroll calculations, employee payments and third- party payments to benefit providers
  • Manage time sheet collection and prepare project time allocations
  • Prepare training materials and conduct training sessions informing employees and managers of local employment requirements and working hour rules
  • Ensure that all local laws and compliance matters are followed.
  • Audit monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll and tax reports, filings, and government notifications
  • Manage shadow tax payroll processing and review local tax filings for US expats working abroad
  • Prepare company registration details for registration of new sites in different states/provinces
  • Create and run reports as requested by internal parties (Workers Compensation, Accounting, Asset Management, Plant Manager, etc.).
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as HR, Accounting, and Treasury
  • Demonstrate a high level of responsiveness to inquiries and requests from managers and employees
  • Assist with time keeping system implementations
  • Develop processes and procedures for the payroll function in accordance with business requirements
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
