About The Position

The Internal I.S. Technical Specialist is responsible for maintaining and monitoring end-user workstations and productivity on local area network. The Internal I.S. Tech Specialist will perform a variety of maintenance, software installation, end-user support, and training tasks to ensure end-user workstations and network performance meet company and user requirements.

Requirements

  • An associate degree and 2+ years of experience or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of previous related experience.
  • Experience including VoIP, QoS, IP, Network Analyzer, Wireless, directory services, server OS and mail.
  • Experience with and understanding of LDAP, TCP/IP, DHCP, SNMP, etc.
  • Solid understanding of routing and switching.
  • Proficiency with business collaboration tools such as MS Office applications and Visio.
  • Superior communication skills in working with technical and non-technical people and the ability to develop and maintain collaborative relations among all levels of an organization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time/task management skills.
  • Ability to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Self-starter with the ability to perform with little or no supervision.
  • Function collaboratively as part of a fast-paced, client-oriented team.

Nice To Haves

  • Current high level industry recognized certifications including one or more of the following: CCNA/CCNP, CCDP, CNE, MASE, MCSE preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tier II help desk support to Marco users by responding in a timely fashion to needs and concerns relating to computer applications, networks, and general systems issues.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve technical problems, escalating as needed.
  • Install, configure, and maintain personal computers, Windows networks, workstations, file servers, network cabling and other related equipment, devices, and systems; add or upgrade and configure disk drives, printers, and related equipment.
  • Perform and/or oversee software and application installation and upgrades.
  • Maintain site licenses for department/organization.
  • Perform day-to-day maintenance of network serves including backups, administration, and hardware maintenance.
  • Plan and implement network security including maintaining firewalls, configuring VPN, managing host security, file permissions, file system integrity and adding and deleting users.
  • Develop and conduct training and instruction for new and existing users on operating systems and other applications to assist users in maximizing use of networks and computing system.
  • Maintains confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored, or accessed by the end-users on the network.
  • Accurately maintain documentation and comply with service administrative procedures in a timely basis to include time entry.
