The Internal Service Advisor is responsible for writing internal service repair orders for new and used cars, dispatching work to technicians, and subletting work if necessary. This role involves preparing repair orders and estimates for internal Bert Ogden vehicles for service work. The advisor will utilize Vehicle Reconditioning Software (Rapid Recon) to maintain a "Time to Line" (TTL) under 5 days and follow the used car process from start to finish. Key responsibilities include reporting discrepancies and delays immediately, providing daily status reports, maintaining individual ROs below 30, and ensuring all receivables are collectable. The advisor will also verify warranty and recall status, develop estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labor, and calculate customer payments including deductibles. They will prepare repair orders by describing symptoms, problems, and causes, and obtaining approval signatures. Maintaining customer rapport by explaining estimates, obtaining approvals, and answering questions is crucial. The role also involves maintaining automotive records, updating job knowledge through education and publications, and enhancing organizational reputation by taking ownership of tasks and exploring value-adding opportunities. Following the complete Bert Ogden Service process and performing cashiering duties are also part of the role. Additional requests from service management will be performed as needed.
