About The Position

The Internal Relief Veterinarian works across three sister hospitals in southeastern New Hampshire: Canobie Lake Veterinary Hospital in Windham, All Pets Veterinary Hospital in Nashua, and Greenland Veterinary Hospital in Greenland. The veterinarian covers for doctors on vacation or leave, adapting to the coverage needs of each hospital while working within a flexible schedule. All three hospitals are AAHA-accredited and use the Conscious Care® program, a culture centered on compassion for team members, clients, patients, and the community. The role focuses on clinical medicine. Duties include seeing appointments, performing exams, creating diagnostic and treatment plans, and optionally performing surgery and dentistry. The permanent hospital teams handle client follow-up and administrative details. A personal assistant supports appointments, client check-in and check-out, and daily workflow. The position is designed to keep the veterinarian on schedule and allow them to leave on time. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with no weekends, on-call duty, or emergency coverage on days off. The veterinarian is not required to cover every open shift, and time off is protected. The position includes five weeks of annual PTO and 30 hours of continuing education per year, along with a $2,500 CE allowance. Hospitals close for two hours each week for rounds and training. The hospitals have digital radiography, dental radiography, Class IV laser, ultrasound, and full in-house laboratories. Specialist access includes a boarded surgeon, a cardiologist, and two traveling internists. The employer describes a possible path to a permanent role, mentorship, or future partnership if of interest.
