About The Position

Skilled Wound Care is hiring Internal Medicine Physicians in Jackson, Mississippi, to provide wound care and lead wound care initiatives in skilled nursing facilities and post-acute settings. The role offers clinical autonomy, continuity with patients through healing, and a weekday schedule without nights, weekends, call, or pagers. Physicians use their Internal Medicine expertise to address chronic wounds and related conditions, and perform bedside procedures including surgical and sharp debridement. Comprehensive wound care training is provided; prior wound care or procedural experience is not required.

The position is available part-time or full-time. Part-time physicians work 2–3 days per week, while full-time physicians work 4–5 days per week. Full-time average annual earnings are listed as $250,000–$500,000, with no earning cap as an independent contractor. Compensation is per patient and per procedure, with quarterly bonus programs; top performers may earn over $500,000 through performance bonuses. Candidates are asked to complete confidential DiSC testing and relevant skills testing before hiring.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Unrestricted or clear medical license in the state of practice, or eligibility to obtain one.
• DEA license, or eligibility to obtain one.
• No previous wound care or procedural experience is required; comprehensive wound care training is provided.
• Candidates must complete confidential pre-employment DiSC testing and appropriate relevant skills testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform surgical and sharp debridement and other bedside procedures.
• Evaluate and treat chronic, non-healing, and complex wounds.
• Manage underlying conditions that affect wound healing.
• Use advanced dressings and specialized wound protocols.
• Collaborate in skilled nursing facilities and post-acute settings, following patients through healing.
• Lead wound care initiatives in skilled nursing facilities across the area.
